Denmark - Where the Forest Meets the Sea

Wildflowers

The Denmark countryside is adorned with wildflowers from mid winter through to late summer. The best places to see wildflowers in Denmark are along the many walking trails or the National Parks.

Enjoy driving or walking through temperate forests and discover the hidden wonders of the forest floor. These amazing ecosystems support a large variety of native animals and delicate wildflowers. In season, the forest is ablaze with orchids, purple native wisteria and green kangaroo paw.

Red Flowering Gum, Corymbia ficifolia, is one of the most widely planted ornamental native trees, yet its natural range only occurs in Australia’s South West. Shades range from pink, orange red to deep red.

Find out about the explosion of colour and variety that is the WA wildflower season visit the Wildflowers WA website. The Southern Wonders Trail provides a guide to wildflower touring in the South West and the wildflower directory includes a list of all the wildflowers you are likely to see during your visit to Denmark. Stop in at the Denmark Visitor Centre and ask about local wildflower guides and tours.
