The Denmark Visitor Centre is seeking a vibrant, dynamic person who is committed to excellence in customer service for the position of
Permanent Part-Time Visitor Centre Officer
The position is responsible for the daily functions of the Visitor Centre, providing prompt and efficient customer service and promoting Denmark as a tourist destination. Roles include, answering queries relating to accommodation, tours, attractions, events and TransWA coaches; processing bookings for these services; assisting with the operation of the retail business; attending to general enquiries; and attending to general office duties.
The appointee must be willing to work flexible hours, including regular weekends as well as public holidays, to meet seasonal demands.
Essential:
· Previous experience in sales, customer service, tourism or public relations
· Strong customer service focus in a high volume work environment
· Demonstrated ability to actively sell services and products in a professional and courteous manner
· Ability to work in a small team environment
· Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
· Experience in using computerised systems and software applications
· Proven ability in cash handling
· Experience in general administration and professional office practices
Desirable:
- Possession of or progress towards formal qualifications in the tourism industry
- Good knowledge of the Denmark district and Great Southern Region
