Board of Management

Denmark Visitor Centre is operated by Denmark Tourism Incorporated (DTI), a member-based association representing the local tourism industry. The DTI Board of Management is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the association.

Board Members (2009-2010)

  Chairman

Mr Kim Barrow is the current Chair of Denmark Tourism. A long-time businessman and resident of the Denmark district, he has lived, farmed and had business interests in the district for 42 years.  Shire Councillor for 9 years, 6 of those as Shire President.

 

  Deputy Chair

Dr Lenore Lyons is Deputy Chair of Denmark Tourism. Together with her husband, she runs a successful eco-tourism business, Out of Sight Tours, based in Denmark. In addition to her roles in tourism, Lenore has an appointment as Research Professor at the University of Western Australia, working in the field of social and economic development.

 

  Secretary

Mrs Beverley Ford is the Secretary of Denmark Tourism. Beverley Ford and her husband Don purchased Karma Chalets in 2007.  Beverley has been in business in the region for 12 years.  Board positions held have included Treasurer of ACCI and Australia’s South West and currently the Committee of the Denmark Chamber of Commerce.

 

  Treasurer

Mr David Steytler is the Treasurer of Denmark Tourism.

 

  Shire Representative

Mr Ross Thornton is the President of the Shire of Denmark.

 

  Marketing Director

Mrs Maria Redman is the Marketing Director of Denmark Tourism. She has had a long involvement in regional marketing initiatives, including a number of terms on the Board of the Great  Southern Regional Marketing Association. She is a succesful businesswoman who has owned and operated businesses in travel and retail.

 

  Ordinary member Mr Michael Evans is CEO and Chairman of an ASX listed company and has extensive business experience.  Due to his love of Denmark and the Great Southern Region, in 2004 he co-founded a small boutique accommodation business in Denmark.  He joined the Board of the DTI in 2009 in order to make a contribution to tourism in the region.
