Taste Great Southern 2017
Great Southern, Western Australia
The Great Southern region of Western Australia represents one of the most diverse and engaging food and wine regions you could imagine! Located along the pristine southern coastline and expanding into the farming hinterland. It boasts some of the most beautiful and unique natural tourism attractions in the state.
When you talk about Great Southern produce, you include words like fresh, clean, natural, seasonal and exceptional. Foods like oysters and seafood, beef and lamb, vegetables and milk products all excel on the south coast and the climate ensures wine varietals such as Shiraz, Riesling and Pinot Noir all compete strongly on the world stage with emerging wines like sparkling, chardonnay and natural building acclaim. The Great Southern is truly a gourmet destination!
The IGA Taste Great Southern will be held for its 13th year in 2017 from Thursday March 23 through to Sunday April 9. Up to 50 events are planned, which will this year include events in Perth to present produce from the Great Southern to metro crowds. Regional events will be held in Albany, Denmark, Porongurup, Katanning, Gnowangerup, Ongerup and Mount Barker. Events in 2017 will include festivals, markets, degustations dinners and lunches, wine tasting, beer, coffee and spirit sessions, food and wine pairing, master classes and community events.
