The new Centre provides space to share with you the different vacations to be found throughout the Denmark area.

There is a special wine and food display promoting the wonderful produce in the region and an area devoted to arts.

The Bert Bolle Barometer - The World's Largest!

Listed in the 2008 Australian Traveller's Top Hundred world unique attractions in Australia!

The Wold'd largest barometer is located within the Denmark Visitor Centre.  It was donated by Bert and Ethne Bolle to the community of Denmark WA and erected in the Denmark Visitor Centre tower. Access is FREE!

This twelve metre high instrument is officially recognized as the largest barometer in the world by The International Guinness Book of Records.

The World's Largest Water Barometer is the Centre’s major attraction. This hand-made barometer was once the centre-piece of a barometer museum in the Netherlands. Bert Bolle, who built the barometer, emigrated to Australia in 1999.

Bert Bolle shipped the Barometer in pieces to his new home in Denmark. Every six minutes, the effect of atmospheric pressure will be demonstrated in setting the water level in the barometer. Items from the Bolle Barometer collection are also on display. Make sure you do not miss this unique display.

Visit Bert Bolle's website on the Water Barometer at www.bertbolle.com and read about its history and how it works.
Bert prefers a quiet lifestyle, so if you have a question, please write to him rather than using the phone, if you can. Bert's postal address: RMB 1021 Denmark WA 6333. Or send him an E-mail through his website.

The Shire of Denmark have made possible this wonderful building to welcome visitors to Denmark.  In 2004 Pascoe Durtanovich, Shire CEO contacted Bert to say there were plans for a new multi-functional Visitor Centre in which a tower could be built especially for the water barometer. At the first stage, Bert had been thinking of a permanent loan, but after some consideration he felt that it would be better to donate the instrument to the Shire of Denmark.
