4th WA State Coastal Conference

Denmark WA is the host for the 4th WA State Coastal Conference

Connecting Land, Shores and Oceans” which is being held from the 30th October to the 2nd November 2007.
Key topics will be climate change, sea change, development, coast and estuary care, community usage of coasts, indigenous connections, fisheries, cutting edge research as well as two afternoons of a variety of field trips to coastal locations from Albany to Walpole.

 

Presenters will share their knowledge, experiences and passion for coastal spaces by focussing on three key themes.

  • Day One focuses on the challenges of our State’s boomtime and the bigger global picture that will impact our coast lines.
  • Day Two zones in on management issues and highlights if Western Australia is well situated to manage the impacts on our coastlines. 
  • Day Three ties the conference themes together and asks participants to consider if we have sufficient capacity to meet the challenges of the future.

Well known speaker and comedian Andrew Horabin is official Master of Ceremony for the conference and will provide a creative overview of the conference on Day Three.

 

The programme has been developed to ensure participants experience the wilds and wonders of the Great Southern region, with a variety of field trips and local case studies being presented during the conference.
