Denmark has a variety of adventures awaiting the intrepid or vigilant visitor.  Try out a walk or bike trail, visit the famous Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk or explore the Bibbulmun Track.  Alond the coast the shoreline, inlets and rivers provide plenty of activity such as surfing, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, boating and canoeing.

Denmark Shoreline, Inlets and Rivers

Denmark's coast, inlets and river areas provide plenty of options for the angler and going to sea provides real opportunities for catching the 'big one'.  Boats can gain access to the sea at a number of spots along the Denmark coastline including Ocean Beach, Parry Beach, Peaceful Harbour, Peaceful Bay and other landings along the coastline and rivers.

Denmark's Southern Ocean coastline provides a number of enjoyable activities. Snorkelers will find abundance of marine life in the turquoise water of Greens Pool which is also a great spot for swimming. 

Surfing

Surfing is a popular pastime for many Denmark locals. Good waves can be found along the miles of extensive beaches and headlands that mark the Denmark shoreline. Try Ocean Beach, Light's Beach or Back Beach (4WD only), close to Denmark town or Parry Beach further to the west.  More about Denmark's coast and beaches.

The Bibbulmun Track

Opened in September 1998, the award-winning Bibbulmun Track is one of the world's great long distance walk trails.  It stretches nearly 1000kms from the Perth Hills through the heart of the scenic South West and Denmark's national parks to Albany.

The Walpole to Denmark section of the track offers walkers more of a wilderness experience for camping out. In the southern hald of the track campsites with three-sided wooden shelters, water tanks, picnic tables, pit toilets and tent sites are spaced a day's walk apart.  The Bibbulmun Track caters for everyone whether you prefer a gentle stroll or an eight week adventure.


DENMARK DINOSAUR WORLD - Bandit Road, Bow Bridge (10 minutes from the Tree Top Walk). 

Denmark Dinosaur World is a unique attraction with meat eaters dying to meet YOU!  See some of the tallest and smallest meat-eating dinosaurs.  Bring your camera for a photo beside one of the biggest carnivores of all time.  Get up close and personal with the only T-Rex in Australia and marvel at Proceratops, the horned dinosaur.  These dinosaurs from the Jurassic and cretacious interact with living dinosaurs -  the birds and reptiles of today's world. Meet and learn about conservation and breeding programme of the critically endangered Red Tailed Black Cockatoo. Marvel at Australia's fascinating and unique reptiles, including rare Pythons, Dragon Lizards & Monitor Lizards.

PENTLAND ALPACA STUD AND ANIMAL FARM

A hands-on animal farm and wildlife park. Alpacas and babies, koalas, kangaroos, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, horses, donkey, deer, emus and aviary birds and many more!  The Koalas Ned, Henry and Banjo, feed time is 10am. At 3pm daily, joeys and other farm babies get their bottle. The craft gallery features ceramics, alpaca fleece and yarn and exquisite alpaca garments. The kiosk is open all year . There is a shady picnic area with gas BBQs and gardens to walk amongst. Farm dams are stocked with rainbow trout - bring your own rod or hire one at the shop and try your luck! UP, UP AND AWAY There is something special in viewing Denmark from the air and a variety of  'highflying' tours and opportunities leave from Denmark Airport. Ashburton Air Services is based in Denmark and flies out to and from Jandakot or Perth airport. Single and twin engine aircraft are maintained to the standards required by Ministry of Premier and Cabinet, BHP, Chevron and Aussar with annual audits required to continue the upmost safety standards & quality. Ashburton Air Services also offer 20 minute to 60 minute scenic flights, suggested winery tours and aerial safaris with stop overs. Hang Gliding is a popular pastime from the spectacular cliffs at Shelley Beach located to the southeast in Denmark West Cape Howe National Park.

 DENMARK DINGHY HIRE - Berridge Park on the Denmark River bank can provide hours of enjoyment for all ages. There are motor boats, canoes, paddleboats and aquabikes Instruction are provided on river safety and how to use the craft.  Lifejackets providefor all and supervision of paddleboats and aquabikes. DENMARK MAZE
- Lapko Road, Denmark. Follow the boardwalk through a paperbark swamp and feel the mystique of this natural bush maze. Fun for the young - and the young at heart. Open sunrise to sunset.  Nominal entry charge of $1 for adults and 50 cents for children.


The Sandalwood Factory - The Essential Albany Experience

Down Road, 2 kms north of the Albany Airport. The Sandalwood Factory is an easy drive from Denmark and offers a range of experiences, from wining and dining in the cafe or garden lounge, to relaxing to the ancient healing sound and exotic Sandalwood scents of "The Gong", to free tours explaining the latest research and practice of Sandalwood extraction, and finally, a browse in the international showroom where an extensive range of bodycare products, perfumes, therapeutics and gift pack ideas are available.

Albany Whale Tours

Whale Watching in Albany begins in May and continues until October. The Humpback and the Southern Right Whale head into our sheltered bays for calving and mating and can often be seen from the look-outs.  Sail-A-Way's allows passengers to move comfortably around the wide deck with ease and safety, giving each passenger a 360 degree opportunity to view the whales from close to the water.  Tickets are available from the Denmark Visitor Centre, visit www.albanywhaletours.com.au, or phone 0408 451 068.  Sail-A-Way is also available for summertime twilight tours of Princess Royal Harbour (with home made scones, jam and cream and tea & coffee provided) and the on-board facilities make it an ideal charter vessel for up to 42 passengers.

Albany Whale World

Whale World, Albany's historic whaling station also has conducted charter fishing trips that leave daily in the summer. With the children, take a Whale Watching boat trip or an adventurous trek around the adventurous Shipwreck Dives around the HMAS Perth sunk to 36 meters, the largest wreck in the state.
